We are very excited to announce that Johanna Skibsrud’s The Sentimentalists, winner of the 2010 Giller Prize,  is now available in the eBook format–exclusively for our Canadian library partners!

The Sentimentalists is Skibsrud’s first novel and marks the debut of a powerful new voice in Canadian fiction.

The story follows Napoleon Haskell as he leaves his home in North Dakota and retreats north to a small Ontario town to live with the father of his fallen Vietnam comrade.  Napoleon’s daughter arrives to find her father haunted by the horrors of the Vietnam War and she devotes herself to learning the truth about his past.  The Sentimentalists is a story of what lies beneath the surface of everyday life, and of the commanding power of the past.

Canadian libraries can purchase The Sentimentalists in Content Reserve today!

Any chance of getting Lord of Misrule by Jaimy Gordon, recent winner of the National Book Award? It had a very small printing–no one in Michigan has a copy yet. Published by McPherson.

She teaches at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, my alma mater.
