Perfecting your pandowdie recipe? Look no further than Julie Richardson and Cory Schreiber’s “Rustic Fruit Desserts: Crumbles, Buckles, Cobbler, Pandowdies, and More.”

I’m always surprised when August hits. I love summer, and although August is still part of the season, it’s like summer’s final act. It means school is right around the corner. It means football season is about to start. It means it’s almost fall. I love fall—I have 36 scarves and 7 pairs of boots to prove it—but I always wish summer was a little longer. There’s just something about summer.

With the warm weather approaching its tragic end, don’t let all of the joys of summer go to waste. I’m talking about all of those delicious fruits and veggies that have been growing these past few months. (The drought affecting portions of the United States hasn’t withered ALL of the crops, has it?) As farmers prepare for harvest, so should you. Get in the agrarian sprit with these great eBooks:

“Ultimate Juicing: Delicious Recipes for Over 125 of the Best Fruit and Vegetable Juice Combinations” By Donna Pliner Rodnitzky
Juice is great for any season; it’s cool and refreshing and often pretty good for you, too. In this eBook, Rodnitzky combines all you favorite fruits and vegetables, often in one recipe, to create mouth-watering nutritious recipes that are easy to create!

“The Everything Guide to Foraging: Identifying, Harvesting and Cooking Nature’s Wild Fruit and Vegetables” By Vickie Shufer
I got really excited because this title literally teaches you how to “hunt and gather” fruit and vegetables from your own backyard. I’ve mentioned in posts before that I’m terrified of the apocalypse, and I feel this eBook is great preparation. It offers in-depth descriptions of edible plants and their likely locations. It also points out the poisonous ones—be sure not to skip out on that section! Happy foraging.

“Rustic Fruit Desserts: Crumbles, Buckles, Cobbler, Pandowdies, and More” By Julie Richardson and Cory Schreiber
I saw the word cobbler and was already sold. Fall is the perfect season to prepare delicious fruit-filled pastries and pies. Schreiber includes all-time favorites and easy-to-prepare recipes to take your leftover fruit to the next level. Impress the family and have them crowding the table for seconds as you ring in fall with style. Prove to the world you know what pandowdies are; some of us had to Google…
