As we near the end of summer, here at OverDrive we’re reflecting on where we were this time last year. Ah, summer 2011. A time before Kindle compatibility for our U.S. libraries, before Harry Potter eBooks were even a glimmer in our eye and a summer before anyone had ever heard “Call Me Maybe.

The most memorable part of last summer for us was Digipalooza 2011. With 450 librarians and publishers in attendance, our third international user conference was a huge success. Librarians joined us in Cleveland for a long weekend of learning and sharing best practices about digital media and how to “manage the eBook explosion.” Digipalooza is a unique event, with opportunities for networking, education and, of course, fun! It wouldn’t be an OverDrive event without a great party, and last year, we enjoyed nights out bowling as well as dinner and dancing at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Ready to join the party for the next Digipalooza? Save the date for Digipalooza 2013: August 1 – 4 in Cleveland, Ohio. During the conference, librarians will share tips and tricks for eBook lending, we’ll host a publisher roundtable, you’ll hear insights from industry experts. Plus, all guests are invited to an exclusive event at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum! Visit the Digipalooza website to sign up to receive updates; registration will begin this fall. While you’re counting down the days until August 1, 2013, check out our highlights video from DigiP 2011.

We hope to see you next summer!
