Digital Bookmobile

Always wanted to be an audiobook narrator? Well, you’ll get your chance at ALA in DC.

We’re teaming with Random House Audio so you can “Lend Your Voice” to a community-sourced audiobook production of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”

The recording studio will be housed inside the Digital Bookmobile, which will be parked across from the Renaissance Hotel. (That’s just two blocks south of the Washington Convention Center.)

Anyone interested in recording a section of the audiobook can stop by June 25-27 to participate. You can find the event hours and a map to the location here.

Random House Audio will post the finished audiobook online for all the narrators to listen to and share with family and friends. We’ll also make it available in our catalog, so you can add the DRM-free MP3 version to your ‘Virtual Branch’ website–for free. Check back here for updates on availability.

This OverDriver will be at the event all weekend and I’m already prepping my voice for the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man.

What “Oz” characters are you most excited to play at Lend Your Voice?
