You may have heard that we’re celebrating the third annual International Read an eBook Day this Friday, September 16. The holiday was created as a way to promote the convenience and accessibility of digital reading, especially through the library, because who doesn’t love free books! Readers who visit the Read an eBook Day website will find reading recommendations, interviews with authors sharing their favorite library stories and social links to share why they enjoy digital reading. By using the hashtag #eBookLove on social media, readers have the ability to win a free device from OverDrive including a new Kobo Aura ONE.

captureReaders aren’t the only ones who can win by showing off their #eBookLove, however. Libraries can win $1,000 in content credit. You’ll have ten chances to win simply by using the hashtag on social media and showing off how you’re celebrating the day. Do you have a Read an eBook Day curated collection? Tweet about it with the hashtag #eBookLove! Are you throwing a party to celebrate the party? Share photos on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag. Are you taking advantage of our Read an eBook marketing kit (zip file) or temporary tattoos? I think you get the idea…

Read an eBook Day gives us the chance to celebrate not just how much easier eBooks have made reading anytime, anywhere but the fact that there’s no better place to access them than the library. Join us in throwing the world’s biggest eBook party and have a chance to win free content while doing it!

OMG! I’m so excited about this day and this contest. I love reading but I have fallen out of the habit. What a wonderful way to get back into reading starting this Friday!
