We have a jam-packed weekend of conference sessions led by leading librarians from across the country, and we’ll kick off on Friday morning with the session “Managing the eBook Explosion” with several industry experts who will share statistics, advice, and predictions for the future of eBooks and digital audiobooks in the library. Later Friday, attendees will hear dozens of creative and effective marketing and outreach campaigns to help your library increase awareness and usage of your OverDrive service, and conclude the first day of the conference with a night out at The Corner Alley for bowling and billiards.
Saturday morning, we will welcome our featured speaker, the successful self-published author, J.A. Konrath, followed by the Publisher Roundtable offering an open dialogue between leading publishers of eBooks and digital audiobooks and librarians. On Saturday afternoon, attendees will hear from members of OverDrive’s Library Partner Services team who will preview OverDrive WIN, a series of platform enhancements, including Kindle Library Lending, patron driven acquisition, Open eBooks, and more. Digipalooza attendees will continue the celebration of digital media in the library with a party at the Cleveland Browns Stadium.
On Sunday, OverDrive will recognize the winning libraries of the Digital Pioneer Awards (the Digies), followed by the Crystal Ball Report from CEO, Steve Potash, who will share what’s coming in the future for eBooks and other digital media.
It’s shaping up to be hot weekend in Cleveland, so dress cool and casual. Shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes are welcome! There appears to be some rain in the forecast so throwing an umbrella in your bag may not be a bad idea.
Safe travels! See you tomorrow.
