In 2006, OverDrive created the Digital Pioneer Award (also know as the Digies Award), which is awarded to partner libraries that have shown excellence and leadership in delivering digital media to their communities through successful collection development, staff training, and promotion. We are delighted to announce the 2011 winning libraries that were recognized at OverDrive’s Digipalooza in July.Debbie Swartz from Mesquite Independent School District (TX) receives the first ‘Digies’ awarded to a school from OverDrive CEO, Steve Potash

OverDrive is proud of all of our partner libraries and the unprecedented growth that most have experienced in the last year. This year’s award winning libraries stood out thanks to the efforts of their staff in building a collection to meet their communities’ needs, training staff on how to download eBooks and audiobooks, and increasing awareness and usage of digital books in their communities.

Don’t forget that OverDrive offers numerous resources to help your library make this service a success, including our marketing kits and Online Learning Center. You may also contact our Library Partner Services team for additional assistance: librarypartnerservices@overdrive.com.

Congratulations again to the winning libraries of the Digies Award!
