As mobile device use continues to grow, OverDrive remains committed to developing the best possible features to support your mobile eBooks and audiobooks. Today, we are pleased to announce the release of OverDrive® Media Console™ v2.4 for iOS (iPhone®/iPad®/iPod touch®).

With OMC v2.4, iOS users now have the option to return eBooks and audiobooks any time within a title’s lending period. eBooks and audiobooks returned before the end of a lending period are removed from your checkout list and made available to your library. You free up a checkout slot, which allows you to enjoy more of OverDrive’s excellent content selection, and your fellow patrons spend less time on the waiting list.

The system requirements have not changed. OverDrive® Media Console™ v2.4 remains a free app, available for installation on any device running iOS v4.0 or newer. Users with OverDrive Media Console already installed will be notified that an update is available. New users can find the updated app in the App Store.

Future versions of OverDrive® Media Console™ for iOS will continue to add features that support mobile eBook and Audiobook use, including dictionary lookup. Stay tuned!

This is my first venture in this venue. I just got a Apple i Pad. I am an avid reader. Especialy early American History. I am 83 yrs old and not to deft in electronics. Takes me a while to navigate around, because of the plethora of new language (New Speak). So lets hope on a good partership

THIS WILL BE A GREAT ADDITION TO THE SYSTEM. IF YOU CAN DO IT FOR OTHER MP3 PLAYERS TOO WOULD HELP TOO. OTHER ADDITION I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT MAYBE AN ESTIMATED TIME OF RETURN FOR THE NEXT PERSON ON HOLD FOR THE BOOK, MAYBE IT WOULDN’T WORK WELL FOR HOLDS OVER 1 PERSON, BUT IF THE SYSTEM KNOWS WHEN THE LAST PERSON CHECKS THE BOOK OUT, AND WILL BE CHECKED BACK IN, IF YOUR NEXT PERSON ON HOLD, IT WOULD TELL YOU HOW LONG BEFORE IT WILL BE TILL THE BOOK IT GOING TO BE CHECKED BACK IN FROM THE LAST PERSON, THAT WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION.
