Integrating technology into the classroom is a shared goal among educators. What once was a lofty task—considering the nuances of early technology—is much simpler. Now, educators are tasked with weighing what feels like thousands of options and determining the best fit for their school community. But how do you evaluate which technologies are beneficial versus ones that just sound like they are?

The trick is finding apps and tools that enhance your students’ learning while managing to be easy to implement AND friendly with other technologies. We know you are working on borrowed time and those precious spare moments should not be spent separating your apps and your learning tools from one another. Like you tell your students, *play nice*. We’ve made the case for implementing OverDrive in your classroom and how easy it is to start with eBooks. Next, let’s look at a few classroom tools that play nice with OverDrive.

Accelerated Reader 360

OverDrive class sets can be purchased and set to deliver directly through your AR360 app. With our built-in exportable note-taking and highlighting tools, teachers can use the app to view student activity and assign questions and quizzes. See some of our most popular requests here.

Schoology

Teachers can link to OverDrive content for homework and classroom assignments in Schoology’s activity feed, calendar or in direct messages to students. You can link to titles directly in your collection or use our Readbox feature, which allows you to embed quick-access samples.

Google Classroom

Your students can toggle from the virtual classroom to the title for reading and submitting assignments. Each of our digital titles come with a unique URL that can be shared across platforms that will link back to your school’s custom OverDrive collection.

The examples above are just a sampling of known apps and tools that partner well with OverDrive. If you are aware of any additional options, please let us know! We are always looking for new ways to make integrating OverDrive technology (in and outside of the classroom) as seamless as possible.

If you have any questions on how to share title links, please reach out to your OverDrive Account Specialist.
