Harry Potter has been a part of my life for nearly twenty years. The first book came out when I was eleven years old and I have been enamored with J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World ever since. I feel fortunate to count myself as one of the millions of people my age who, quite literally, grew up with Harry, Hermione and Ron. With each passing book and movie my love for the wonderment and magic of Hogwarts only grew. My wife and I own several complete sets of the books and have visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando on more than one occasion. The wands of Professor Snape and Professor Dumbledore are featured prominently on our bookshelves.

The universe that J.K. Rowling has created is one that I will never tire of returning to and so whenever new projects are announced or released I can’t wait to dive into them. That is why I was ecstatic when Pottermore sent us this:

The 2016 movie with the same name, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a set textbook at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. Now, this wonderful text is available as an audiobook, allowing us to learn about the countless beasts and creatures that fill the wizarding world. Narrated by Eddie Redmayne, this is the first audiobook edition of Scamander’s textbook ever to be released. Eddie Redmayne, stars as Newt Scamander in the film of the same name, which follows Newt’s adventures in 1920s New York City, inviting us into a new era of the wizarding world, making him the perfect fit for this audiobook.

Eddie’s excitement is contagious as it’s clear he’s as in love with this world as the millions of readers around the world are. Listening to him describe these creatures filled me both with nostalgia for the stories I’ve long loved and excitement for the continued adventures we can look forward to with Newt and the full cast of characters we’re sure to meet in the upcoming movies. This audiobook is perfect for everyone from your most ardent Potterheads to those who are just discovering these magical experiences for the first time.
