Drumroll, please! The winners are in for the 2011 Outreach Program Contest! On behalf of Team OverDrive, I’d like to thank all the libraries that participated this year. The winning libraries were recognized at  Digipalooza and each received a collection credit and an award certificate.

I’d like to congratulate the following libraries:

Grand Prize Winner:
Hoover Public Library – Jefferson County Library Cooperative (Alabama)

Online Winner:
Sandusky Library – CLEVNET (Ohio)

Inside the Library Winner:
Chatham Area Public Library District – Rolling Prairie Consortium (Illinois)

Outside the Library Winner:
Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County – Ohio eBook Project (Ohio)

You can see all the winning entries—and get a few ideas for your own outreach efforts—on the OverDrive website.

We received 40 entries from libraries around the world. The judging criteria were based on two primary areas:

1) Creativity: The originality of the campaign and how/where it was implemented.
2) Effectiveness: The potential of the campaign to reach new patrons inside and outside the library, and ultimately increase download circulation.

Thank you again to all the libraries that participated. If you are interested in starting a marketing campaign to promote your digital service, please contact librarypartnerservices@overdrive.com.
