With summer well underway, you may have noticed more foot traffic inside your library. Each patron who walks through your doors represents another opportunity to promote your digital collection. Through clever use of displays and promotions inside the library, you can help patrons take advantage of your library’s digital resources.

This time of year, many patrons are making travel plans—what an ideal time for them to discover downloadable titles to enjoy on the road! Try reaching out to your community by posting signs promoting your library’s eBook and audiobook offerings at local shops, restaurants and recreation centers.

The Internet also presents infinite possibilities for connecting with readers in your community and beyond. If you haven’t already, start a summer reading book club. Focused on always-available titles offered through Max Access or Project Gutenberg, and host discussions on your library’s Facebook or Twitter outlets. You can also use social media to promote library events such as device demonstrations and contests.
