Looking for a new way to earn credit toward developing your digital collection? Try LibraryBIN (‘Buy It Now’).

The newest digital bookstore from OverDrive is like an online library gift shop, offering your patrons the chance to buy popular and best-selling eBooks and audiobooks, with most of the LibraryBIN profits going back to libraries.

Each time an eBook or audiobook is purchased, the customer has the option of supporting a participating library’s fund or the general fund that benefits all LibraryBIN libraries. A percentage from the sale is then put into an account for each library to use to towards eBooks and audiobooks for their ‘Virtual Branch’, while the general fund revenue is split among all participating libraries.

In addition to generating revenue, LibraryBIN also helps your patrons avoid long waiting lists on popular titles, offering them the option of purchasing the title immediately and give back to their local community.

When your library joins LibraryBIN, a link on your ‘Virtual Branch’ website will guide users to LibraryBIN where they can purchase a copy of their favorite titles by their favorite authors.

Also a ‘Buy It Now’ link below titles on your ‘Virtual Branch’ will direct patrons to the LibraryBIN website.

Anyone can purchase from LibraryBIN and support a library; they don’t even need to be a library patron.

Currently nine libraries are LibraryBIN partners, including District of Columbia Public Library, Cuyahoga County Public Library, North Carolina Digital Library, Tennessee R.E.A.D.S, and Las Vegas- Clark County Library District.

If your library would like to participate in LibraryBIN, contact partnerservices@overdrive.com.
