Libraries in the US and Canada can now bring the magical world of Disney alive for their customers with both interactive online books and downloadable eBooks from Disney Digital Books. The collection offers nearly 700 classic and new titles with lovable characters, including Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Princesses, Hannah Montana and many more.

Disney Digital Books on Computer Screens

The browser-based, interactive online titles from the Disney Digital Books website are “always available” for simultaneous use and can be checked out in a similar manner to OverDrive’s Max Access titles. These books are available at every skill level, so kids of all ages can read along, too. Users can even use Disney’s magic pen to turn pages, hear words pronounced, find definitions, and access additional help. This enhances readers’ opportunities for learning and fun.

Disney’s interactive online books can be accessed on Windows and Mac computers that are connected to the internet. Each online book is integrated into your library’s digital catalog so users can discover the titles through normal browsing. In addition, users can select the “Disney Online Books” format in the Advanced Search. When users check out a title and then click on the “Launch” button, the book will open in the web browser.

Disney eBooks on eReaders & Devices

In addition to these new browser-based books, Disney has also provided one-copy, one-user eBooks in EPUB and PDF formats. These titles can be downloaded, read, and enjoyed offline like other eBooks from your library. Users can download EPUB eBooks from the library directly to their iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, or Android devices with OverDrive’s free apps. Both EPUB and PDF eBooks can also be transferred to the Sony Reader, NOOK, and other compatible devices. Many titles are live right now and more will be available soon.

To add a Disney interactive online book subscription and one-copy, one-user eBooks, visit Content Reserve. Once you place your order for a Disney Digital Books subscription, an OverDrive project manager will contact you to proceed.

I find this interesting, and I would like to read Disney books I never got a chance to read when I was younger.
