An app update for OverDrive Media Console for iOS users is now available in the Apple App Store. This new version addresses the issues that prevented users from opening eBooks in OMC for iOS v3.0.1 after upgrading to iOS 7.


After installing v3.0.2, users may be prompted to re-authorize the app with their Adobe ID when attempting to open an EPUB eBook. If a user has not re-authorized his or her Adobe ID after upgrading to iOS 7, the user will be prompted to re-authorize. If a user has previously uninstalled and reinstalled the app after upgrading to iOS 7 and then re-authorized with their Adobe ID, the user will not be prompted to re-authorize.


This update also contains the following updates:

  • Book cover no longer displays when returning to the app while multitasking
  • Icons have been added to the Table of Contents to indicate position in both audiobooks and eBooks
  • Other bug fixes and improvements

    Have uninstalled the app for Overdrive Media Console but there is no install or re-install button only a cloud that has a downward arrow. It does nothing. Please help.

      Try shutting off your device and turning it back on. It should be available in the app store at that point.

    I have a patron that has deleted and re-downloaded the app. However, now they cannot access their books that they had checked out before they deleted the app. I tried re-downloading the books but when we tried to sign into adobe it said that we couldn’t because she had signed in too many times.

    It’s difficult to find the return books early option. I keep forgetting where it’s located and I have to look it up in the Help section. It should be a tab that is visually available on the screen without having to tap to find it. That’s how it was before the new update. I think people are going to hold on to books longer because the return early option is hidden from view.

      Hi A.C. if you just tap and hold on a book the return button comes up. It should walk you through that when you open up the app for the first time. If you forget just click the help button in the left hand nav. Thanks!

    After ios7 upgrade, I deleted overdrive from my apps and installed the new version v3.0.2. After authorizing my adobe, I received error fulfill: 2004 license has already been fulfilled by another user. Please let me know how to get past this, thanks

    After I upgraded to IOs7 my boohs do not sync to the furthest page read on mr ipad and iPhone. How do I fix this? I have checked to make sure the options are checked to do this. I like reading books in the library app vs kindle. Will this be fixed?

    The syncing is still glitchy. Needs improvement. Loses place sometimes in audiobook even when its only on one device.

    I am helping a patron who’s IPad is stuck on the Overdrive page. All it says is downloading title but she can not refresh or cancel and restart download. She has used the IPad many times before and this is the first time she has come to this problem. We tried updating the Overdrive App and this did not help. Any suggestions?
